It's not really their fault? They're scared of losing themself/losing control, they apparently have a lot of anxiety whenever they do have gaps in their memory and that's understandable. It's also possible that things recently have made it worse, like school. But it could be part of what's keeping everything from stabilizing.
Maybe a therapist could help with this? Assuming they accept all of us and don't try to "cure" us. We just need this to be stable so we can stop worrying and fighting and start getting to know ourselves as individuals. That's all I want and I know it's probably what most of us want right now. It would just be nice if it didn't seem so improbable.
